Fame, Fate, and the First Kiss by Kasie West is a book all about acting with a side of mystery. I enjoyed the creative premise and the passionate main character. I would definitely recommend this one as a cute and quick read for the summer.

Review: Fame, Fate, and the First Kiss by Kasie West
This book follows Lacey, an actress who has just landed her first lead role in a movie. However, there isn’t much chemistry between her and her co-star, and mishaps are constantly occurring on set. On top of this, Lacey is falling behind with her homework, and her dad takes it upon himself to hire a tutor. I love any book that features acting/movie sets, so I knew I was going to love this one. I found that the sabotage adds some intrigue, albeit it is a bit predictable. I appreciate the efforts made to spice up the novel, but it feels borderline Scooby Doo. This was really my only complaint about the book, however, as it is such an entertaining read with a fresh movie set setting.
❀ Realistic Main Character
I really enjoyed Lacey’s character and how realistic her actions are. She is an actress, but she definitely isn’t perfect. She doesn’t keep up with school, and she lets the opinions of the public get to her. I liked how Lacey is always trying to improve herself, both in her career and as a person. When there is a problem, such as the lack of chemistry on set, she tries her best to resolve it and learn from it. As well, she has a voice that is appropriate for her age, and this makes her more believable as a character.
❀ Fresh and Fast-Paced
Fame, Fate, and the First Kiss by Kasie West is a fresh and fast-paced novel about acting. I enjoyed the movie set setting as well as the dedicated and realistic main character. As far as Kasie West books go, this one does not disappoint, and I can’t wait to read what she writes next.

Great review! Kasie West’s books are either a hit or miss for me. I’m planning to read her recent novel Maybe This Time this month and I really hope it works out for me. Fame Fate First Kiss sounds pretty good! I might give it a shot! I’m glad you enjoyed it!
