Rayne & Delilah’s Midnite Matinee by Jeff Zentner has such a fantastic concept. I really loved Zentner’s Goodbye Days and I am really excited about this next novel because the main theme is friendship. Also, how cool is it that the main characters host a creature feature show? The story that the author has posted on Goodreads about the inspiration behind the novel is one of the coolest things I have come across in a while. Continue reading

It is is a little bit out of my comfort zone since I don’t typically read scary books, but I found myself loving the thrilling plot and the intelligent main character. The writing style is perfect for the genre, and I would definitely recommend this one, even to those who aren’t big fans of horror, like myself. Continue reading

What If It’s Us: Becky Albertalli, Adam Silvera
What If It’s Us by Becky Albertalli and Adam Silvera is a book that is at the same time profound and adorable, and the main characters are each likeable. I especially enjoyed seeing both the authors’ signature styles come through at times, and their work fits together nicely. I had extremely high hopes for this one, and it is safe to say that I was not disappointed. Continue reading
We Set the Dark on Fire, Tehlor Kay Mejia
We Set the Dark on Fire by Tehlor Kay Mejia is a dystopian that this one sounds incredible. I am immediately drawn into this book because of the forbidden love trope. The concept is so intriguing and the cover is just so pretty. It also sounds a bit like The Handmaid’s Tale with its polarized society. Looking forward to finding out more about this one in the spring!
