Review: Bookies: Bookmarks to Crochet

When I purchase a craft book, I love it when there are lots of great images to help with its construction. Bookies definitely has some really cute graphics and images to learn from. I really enjoyed reading through this book.

❀ Clear Instructions

The instructions are quite clear in this crochet book. I have started creating the “Harrison Hare” bookmark and I am finding that it is fairly easy to follow. Although, I am not sure that a beginner would find the projects easy to complete. The author has posted some videos on YouTube that may help those who are having difficulty.

There are a few things that need to be considered prior to completing these projects, however. The author hasn’t included much information about the yarn, as he assumes that you will use a specific brand. Also, the gauge isn’t indicated either, which might prove difficult for some. Fortunately, I have a local yarn shop that was able to give me lots of tips and help in these areas.

❀ Whimsical Designs

Bookies: Bookmarks to Crochet by Jonas Matthies is definitely a great crafting book. The designs are so whimsical in Bookies, and I look forward to crocheting lots of these little bookmarks. They might not be easy to create for those with limited experience, however.

Oh my gosh, TOO CUTE! I am so not artsy, I would totally stink at this, but I want to try it anyway. My mouse may look more like a moose, but WHO CARES! TOO CUTE!
