Review: Archenemies by Marissa Meyer

Archenemies by Marissa Meyer is an amazing sequel to Renegades by Marissa Meyer, This instalment is just as incredible as its predecessor, and it is equally complex. The characters are all so original, and the setting is developed. I can’t get enough of this series, and I am desperate for the next book!

Summary (from Goodreads):

The Renegades Trilogy continues, in this fiercely awaited second installment after the New York Times-bestselling Renegades by Marissa Meyer, author of the Lunar Chronicles.

Time is running out.
Together, they can save the world.
But they each other's worst nightmare.

In Renegades, Nova and Adrian (aka Insomnia and Sketch) fought the battle of their lives against the Anarchist known as the Detonator. It was a short-lived victory.

The Anarchists still have a secret weapon, one that Nova believes will protect her. The Renegades also have a strategy for overpowering the Anarchists, but both Nova and Adrian understand that it could mean the end of Gatlon City - and the world - as they know it.

Review: Archenemies by Mairssa Meyer

This book picks up right where Renegades left off, and it follows Nova as she tries to get her uncle’s helmet back from the Renegades. The plot of this series is so complex, and I love how much secrecy is incorporated. There is so much action as both Nova and Adrian go undercover, and it made the book so hard to put down. I also loved how believable the story is. It is so easy to escape into Gatlon City. If you love action-packed superhero books, I would definitely recommend this one.

Amazing Cast of Characters

One of the best parts of Archenemies is the cast of characters. Each of them has their own unique ability, and it was so interesting to get to know them. The fact that they all have alter egos is also pretty cool. Of course, I loved the main character, Nova, and her determination to get revenge and justice for what happened to her family. What I enjoyed was the fact that the book revolves around a villain, and it actually made me want to side with the bad guys.

A Believable and Interesting World

The world of the Renegades series is so interesting. Its history is developed, and the politics make sense. I was so intrigued by the fact that society is run by heroes, and I loved how there is a group that questions that. A believable world is very important to me, and I’m glad that this series delivers on that.

Thrilling Sequel

Archenemies by Marissa Meyer is the thrilling sequel to Renegades, and it is just as epic as the first book. I loved the main characters and the villainous lead, and the setting is very logical. I can’t wait to see where the series goes next!

The thing I love most about these two books is that not everything is black and white. Many of the “good guys,” or the Renegades, use questionable methods to achieve their goals, and the Anarchists are the “bad guys,” but honestly, all they’re fighting for is a future with equality for everyone. This makes it so hard to choose a side, but also brilliant.

I’m new to this Renegades series. I haven’t read many books that revolve around a villain so this series sounds very interesting.

I loved all the information, each characters growth and let’s not forget the world build, it was fantastic and I’m expecting nothing less from this one.

Hope you have a lovely week ahead. 💋 xoxo
