The Beholder by Anna Bright is a new fantasy series that sounds like it has an incredible setting and concept. Retellings are my favourite kind of reads. The fact that this book is a mash-up of The Odyssey and Cinderella has me jumping with excitement. How cool does that sound? The cover is also all sorts of amazing as well.

Selah has waited her whole life for a happily ever after. As the only daughter of the leader of Potomac, she knows her duty is to find the perfect match, a partner who will help secure the future of her people. Now that day has finally come.
But after an excruciatingly public rejection from her closest childhood friend, Selah’s stepmother suggests an unthinkable solution: Selah must set sail across the Atlantic, where a series of potential suitors awaits—and if she doesn’t come home engaged, she shouldn’t come home at all.
From English castle gardens to the fjords of Norge, and under the eye of the dreaded Imperiya Yotne, Selah’s quest will be the journey of a lifetime. But her stepmother’s schemes aren’t the only secrets hiding belowdecks…and the stakes of her voyage may be higher than any happy ending.

Book Quotes: The Beholder by Anna Bright
You will always be the sun to me. Bright and beautiful and the warmest thing in my world.
I think the powerful would love less the fruits of violence if they had to deal it out by hand.
How have I not seen this book around? It sounds so good! Thanks for featuring it!

Right?! I just discovered it on GR a few days ago myself. 🙂
Don’t know that I’ll pick this up because of the romance aspect, but the cover is really cool. Hope you love it!
Fair enough! Thanks! 🙂
That cover is gorgeous!! I like the Cinderella/Odyssey mash-up too, that sounds very unique!
Hi! I love the idea of Wishlist Wednesday. Is it something you started or is it technically a part of Can’t Wait Wednesday? I just want to know who to credit if I do it next week.
I started using the title when WoW was starting to fizzle. You are welcome to use it as well if you like. 🙂
It took me a minute to get past that wonderful cover to read about the story, and it definitely sounds like a good one.
I know!!! The cover is mesmerizing, isn’t it?!
I never really read retellings until I tried some YA books. Since then, I’ve read some wonderful ones. This sounds great and that cover is spectacular. I’d hang it on my wall!

I love duologies now, and this does sound good. The Odyssey plus Cinderalla? Cool ! I like the sound of her voyage too, and visiting different ports.
It seems very interesting. I added it on GoodRead.
I really dislike it when a synopsis says that the book is “perfect for fans of The Selection or Caraval” but I do like that it’s a mash-up of The Odyssey and Cinderella. I’m obsessed with the Odyssey these days. lol
Same! I find it to be a bit presumptuous. However, it does sound like it will be amazing. I thought of you when I saw it has elements of the Odyssey. 😉
I love Caraval and this sounds very intriguing! Adding it to my TBR! Thanks for sharing it! 🙂
