To save the lives of countless people in Captive’s Sound, Nadia has sworn herself to the One Beneath, to black magic. Her plan, and the town’s only hope, is for Nadia to learn enough sorcery to strike back against the forces of darkness. But now that she’s separated from her friends, her family, and her Steadfast, Mateo, Nadia is more vulnerable than ever to darkness. And as the sorceress Elizabeth summons torrential rains and brings the One Beneath closer to the mortal world, Nadia is running out of time to stop her. The final battle lines are drawn, surprising alliances are made, and true love is tested in the action-packed conclusion to the breathtaking Spellcaster series.
Sorceress is richly woven with New York Times bestselling author Claudia Gray’s signature dark magic, captivating mystery, and star-crossed romance.

Book Review: Sorceress by Claudia Gray
Sorceress by Claudia Gray is finally here with the final book in the Spellcaster series. There is plenty of magic, an awesome female sidekick and an ending that will please readers. This series is definitely one of my favourite fantasies.
❀ Unique use of Magic
The use of magic in the Spellcaster series is different from other witchcraft books. The ingredients for spells are memories, which I have never read about before. I love this idea, because it sort of breaks the witch stereotype (with the broomstick and black cats). Claudia Gray has created both good and evil witches, making the Spellcaster books so compelling.
❀ Verlaine has a Bigger Role
I really enjoyed how Verlaine, the main character, Nadia,’s best friend, has a bigger role in Sorceress. The reader is able to get to know her better and learn more about her amazing retro fashion sense. Verlaine gets to have more of her own story as well as take part in Nadia’s mission to stop The One Beneath from entering the human world. She has an interesting backstory, making her lose the ability to be loved. The way she solves this in the book is so funny to read. She is a fantastic character that makes interesting choices that will enlighten the reader.
❀ An Amazing Conclusion
Sorceress by Claudia Gray is an amazing conclusion to the series. The ending is not quite happily ever after, but still very sweet. It ties up all the loose ends so the reader will be satisfied. If you have read and enjoyed Claudia Gray’s other works, I strongly recommend the Spellcaster trilogy to you. It is filled with action, mystery and suspense. These books will definitely blow your mind.
I always love hearing that a series is finished well. I will have to check this one out
Missie @ A Flurry of Ponderings
I finished this one up a few weeks ago, and I enjoyed it. Verlaine and Asa were my favorite parts of this story, and I loved that they had so much more time in this one. IT was a good ending, and realistic. (Nadia’s mom…) All in all, this was a good series. I loved how magic was worked.
