Review: Instant Cooking With Six Sisters’ Stuff

The instant pot has been something that I have been trying to use more of and this Six Sisters’ Stuff cookbook has given me some inspiration. I have just stuck to the basic recipes in the past and after reading through this book I feel more confident to tackle something a bit more complex.

  • Basics
  • Main Dishes
  • Side Dishes
  • Desserts and Snacks

❀ Simple Directions

There are lots of bright and colourful photographs throughout the book and the authors use very simple language and directions to follow that put newbie instant pot chefs at ease. Many of the recipes involve pre-packaged foods as a time-saving strategy, however the tips and tricks included with the recipes are invaluable.

Apple Crisp

I tried my hand at the apple crisp recipe, which is quite similar to the one that I typically bake in my oven. The prep time was the same, but the total cooking time of 15 minutes has made this dessert fast and easy for me to prepare. The only downside is the lack of crisp on the top, as is the case with pressurized cooking. It was definitely a yummy and satisfying treat that I can see myself making again.

❀ Inspiring dishes

If you are in need of some inspiring dishes to create with an instant pot, Instant Cooking With Six Sisters’ Stuff is one to try. The book is easy to follow and includes lots of great images. It is a perfect resource for anyone new to using an instant pot.

About Six Sisters' Stuff

Six Sisters' Stuff

SixSistersStuff.com started in February 2011 with six biological sisters (Camille, Kristin, Elyse, Stephanie, Lauren, and Kendra) who love to cook, craft, and create. After years of living close to one another, they suddenly found themselves living in different parts of the country and used the blog to stay in touch and share ideas.

I didn’t know they had another cookbook out! I have their Dinners Made Easy with Six Sisters and love it. They do include such nice pictures. I sometimes use recipes off their websites too. I need to check this one out!

I haven’t heard of these ladies! In fact, the only cookery books I have belonged to my Mum, from when she got married, back in the 50s when rationing was still in Britain.
