Summary (from Goodreads):

For Nicole Larson, the Christmas season in Paris is more than just a romantic interlude—it’s also a homecoming. Nic studied abroad in Paris a year ago, and is back in town with her friend Annike to spend Christmas and New Year’s in the City of Light. Of course, now that Nic is there, the chemistry she once had with Parisian hottie Luc instantly reignites. But why fuel a romance that has only three weeks to survive? Nic would rather spend time with her new buddy Mike . . . until it becomes clear that Mike is also interested in being more than just friends. With a backdrop of twinkling lights on the Champs-Elysées and Parisian Christmas carols, it’s going to be difficult for Nic to deny the romance around her. . . .

Review: French Kissmas by Catherine Hapka

This book tells the story of a girl who returns to Paris over Christmas to film a video for a study abroad company. While she is there, she is reunited with her old boyfriend but also meets someone new. I loved the Paris setting as this is one of my favourite places to read about. I also liked the international friendships that develop throughout the story. This book is the sequel to another work in the series that I didn’t get the chance to read, but I feel like it does a good job recapping the events. I would have appreciated the story even more if I had read the other book, but I still found it enjoyable.

❀ A Great Cast of Characters

There is a great cast of characters in the novel, and they are each from different countries. Nic, the main character, is rational, and I admired her for not wanting to date when she is only in Paris for a short time. She is a relatable narrator, although I wish she had been a little more original. As well, many characters from the other books in the series make cameos, and they each have their quirks. I especially liked Annike, since she is so sweet.

❀ Cosy Vibes

French Kissmas by Catherine Hapka is a holiday read set in Paris, and it is filled with cosy vibes. The main character is relatable, and there are many other cameos. This is something short and sweet that will leave readers feeling festive.

I do like books set in other countries, so this sounds appealing to me. But, unlike you, I would have to start with the first. I hate when they do a bunch of talking about the previous books in the series without knowing them. I will most certainly add this to my list to read tho.
