Four Dead Queens by Astrid Scholte is the kind of unputdownable book I had been waiting to review. This fantasy-thriller fusion is enthralling, and the plot is unpredictable. The Steel Prince by V.E.Schwab is an enthralling YA graphic novel that is the prequel to the Shades of Magic series. It is a bit out of my comfort zone, but I found myself enjoying the unique, action-packed plot and the gorgeous artwork. Dark of the West by Joanna Hathaway is unlike any fantasy I’ve read before. The book features espionage, forbidden romance, and aviation, which is such any amazing combination. I enjoyed both of the main characters, and the writing is impressive. I would definitely recommend this one as it is an original high fantasy. Continue reading
The Enchanted Sonata by Heather Dixon Wallwork
The Enchanted Sonata by Heather Dixon Wallwork is a perfect combination of The Nutcracker and The Pied Piper, two of my favourite stories. This book is fast-paced, and it contains a cast of characters who are each well developed. I especially enjoyed the writing style and descriptions of music. I would definitely recommend this book for the holiday season, even if you are unfamiliar with the two original stories. Continue reading
