Stalking Jack the Ripper by Kerri Maniscalco is the perfect festive read for Halloween. It is is a little bit out of my comfort zone since I don’t typically read scary books, but I found myself loving the thrilling plot and the intelligent main character. The writing style is perfect for the genre, and I would definitely recommend this one, even to those who aren’t big fans of horror, like myself. Continue reading

Catwoman: Soulstealer by Sarah J. Maas is filled with action and suspense, and the main character is surprisingly easy to root for, despite her being a villain. The dual narration also provides some drama. I really enjoyed this story, and I am excited for the series to continue. I have been following along with the DC Icons series since the first book was released, and I was so excited to see that Catwoman: Soulstealer written by Sarah J. Mass also follows a villain. Heist Society by Ally Carter is an original series about a group that plans and executes heists. The main characters are all so likeable, even if they are a bit clichéd. This YA book series perfectly balances lightness and action, and it is perfect for those looking for some quick reads. Continue reading

Warcross by Marie Lu has got to be one of the best YA sci-fi books I’ve ever read, and I’ve read a lot of books. It tells the story of a girl working behind the scenes of a virtual reality game to stop a sinister plan. The world is absolutely incredible, and no details are overlooked. The main character is so brave and comes a long way from the beginning of the book as well. This is a YA book series that should be on everyone’s TBRs. Continue reading
