The Edge of Everything by Jeff Giles is a supernatural book that intrigued me. This is a story about a bounty hunter from hell who falls in love with a regular girl from our world, and the main characters are both enjoyable. There is also a theme of family, and I couldn’t help but love the main character’s little brother. This is different from anything I’ve read before, and I would recommend it to those looking for something new.

For the perfect love, what would you be willing to lose?
It’s been a shattering year for seventeen-year-old Zoe, who’s still reeling from her father's shockingly sudden death in a caving accident and her neighbors’ mysterious disappearance from their own home. Then on a terrifying sub-zero, blizzardy night in Montana, she and her brother are brutally attacked in a cabin in the woods—only to be rescued by a mysterious bounty hunter they call X.
X is no ordinary bounty hunter. He is from a hell called the Lowlands, sent to claim the soul of Zoe’s evil attacker and others like him. X is forbidden from revealing himself to anyone other than his prey, but he casts aside the Lowlands’ rules for Zoe. As they learn more about their colliding worlds, they begin to question the past, their fate, and their future.

Review: The Edge of Everything by Jeff Giles
This book tells the story of a girl who falls in love with a boy from hell whose job is to collect the souls of the evil. However, they can never be together due to their differing worlds. What is interesting about the book is the fact that it reads as both a contemporary and a supernatural thriller. The reader experiences both Montana and the Lowlands, which is an intriguing contrast. I enjoyed reading about aspects such as caving, and there is some humour sprinkled throughout the story as well. Overall, this is a well-developed book that is very believable.
❀ Adorable Characters
I enjoyed both Zoe and X as characters in the story. Zoe is the kind of character who will do anything to achieve her goals, and she is determined to find out the truth about her father and to stay with X. X experiences a bit of a culture shock in the modern world, and the outdated way he speaks is entertaining. Both of them are adorable, and I was definitely rooting for their relationship throughout the book.
❀ Family Bonds
One of my favourite aspects of the book had to be the family bonds. Zoe has a little brother named Jonah, and he is the absolute sweetest. I loved reading about how protective they are of each other and how Jonah’s grief is also portrayed. X and Jonah are also have some cute interactions which made me smile. Family is one of my favourite topics to read about, and I was glad to see it portrayed in the book.
❀ Unique Story
The Edge of Everything by Jeff Giles is a unique story about a boy from hell and a girl from Earth. Both the main characters are likeable, and the familial themes made the book even more enjoyable for me. I would definitely recommend this one since it is an interesting take on hell.
Book Quotes: The Edge of Everything by Jeff Giles
Book Beginning
Zoe met X on a Sunday in February, when there was a storm on its way from Canada and the sky was so dark it looked like someone was closing a giant coffin lid over Montana.
Friday 56
Her mother pushed open the door of the bedroom and then closed it behind her, so that the wedge of light made the trophies on the wall gleam briefly and then go out.
So glad you liked it! I can’t wait to start reading this one! Great review, it made me want to pick it up even more:D
