Sherwood by Meagan Spooner is a retelling of Robin Hood that sounds like my new favourite girl power story. I am not too familiar with the story of Robin Hood, but the concept is one that I love. The fact that the main character in Sherwood is a female has me very excited. I look forward to finding out how Spooner spins this epic tale.
Sherwood by Meagan Spooner

Author: Megan Spooner
Publisher: HarperTeen
Publication Date: March 19, 2019

Fans of Danielle Paige, Marissa Meyer, and Alex Flinn will devour New York Times bestselling author Meagan Spooner’s next fierce fairy tale-inspired story, which Illuminae author Amie Kaufman calls “a kick-***, gender-flipped feminist retelling.”
Robin of Locksley is dead.
Maid Marian doesn’t know how she’ll go on, but the people of Locksley town, persecuted by the Sheriff of Nottingham, need a protector. And the dreadful Guy of Gisborne, the Sheriff’s right hand, wishes to step into Robin’s shoes as Lord of Locksley andMarian’s fiancé.
Who is there to stop them?
Marian never meant to tread in Robin’s footsteps—never intended to stand as a beacon of hope to those awaiting his triumphant return. But with a sweep of his green cloak and the flash of her sword, Marian makes the choice to become her own hero: Robin Hood.

Book Quotes: Sherwood by Meagan SPooner
Who are you to say that being a lady, in itself, is not its own kind of war.
It wasn’t Sherwood Forest he haunted, it was Marian. She carried him in her thoughts and she would carry out his will with her own hands.
I’m obsessed with everything relating to Robin Hood so I’m loving the sound of this book! I hope it’s as good as it sounds.
I hope that it is one that we both love! 🙂
I have been seeing this title around and am definitely interested. I know a little of the Robinhood stories, but not much. Marion was always a favorite character–never a pushover. I think I would enjoy this one. I hope you do!
I can’t wait to learn more about Marian! 🙂
Ooh this sounds awesome. I love it when they gender switch classic stories. This is going on my TBR immediately.
Right?! I have high hopes for this one. 🙂
I totally want to read this one too! I am excited for it but so long till it gets here. Great pick! I hope we both get to read this one!
Mary my CWW!
I was surprised to see the March pub date! I feel as though I have been hearing about it forever. 🙂
I like retellings, too, and the twist on the Robin Hood story sounds good!
Can’t wait for this one!
Yes, Marian does sound kickass. I’m a fan of Robin Hood, so Sherwood sounds excellent. Thanks for mentioning it.
I loved Meagan Spooner’s Hunted and this sounds pretty good. I’m adding it to my TBR! Thanks for sharing it! 🙂

I still need to read Hunted and I should really get on that soon! 🙂
Oh I have to have this one!
I am quite familiar with the legend of Robin Hood, and I am always up for a good gender swap retelling. I am a fan of Spooner too.
This book seems like it is going to be amazing! 🙂
The only Robin Hood story I really know is the Kevin Costner movie.

Yes, please! YEEESSS! The cover is beautiful too!
I’ll be curious to see what people think of this one. I’ve only read Hunted by this author, and while I didn’t LOVE it, it was still a pretty good story. I like gender swap stories too though, so that aspect is fun!
