From #1 New York Times bestselling author Lisa Gardner, a propulsive thriller featuring an ordinary woman who will stop at nothing to find the missing people that the rest of the world has forgotten
Frankie Elkin is an average middle-aged woman, a recovering alcoholic with more regrets than belongings. But she spends her life doing what no one else will--searching for missing people the world has stopped looking for. When the police have given up, when the public no longer remembers, when the media has never paid attention, Frankie starts looking.
A new case brings her to Mattapan, a Boston neighborhood with a rough reputation. She is searching for Angelique Badeau, a Haitian teenager who vanished from her high school months earlier. Resistance from the Boston PD and the victim's wary family tells Frankie she's on her own--and she soon learns she's asking questions someone doesn't want answered. But Frankie will stop at nothing to discover the truth, even if it means the next person to go missing could be her.

Review: Before She Disappeared by Lisa Gardner
The main character, Frankie, is a character that has had quite a difficult past. She has made it her life’s work to track down missing women and is presently attempting to uncover the whereabouts of a teenage girl. Her methods are interesting, and she has inserted herself in the middle of a Boston neighbourhood to collect information and connect with the locals. While Frankie is a bristly character that is hard to relate to, her determination and compassion for finding this missing girl is admirable.
❀ Plot Twists Keep You Guessing
The story starts off quite slow, but as the pieces of the disappearance of the teen come together, things start to pick up. There are a few twists to the plot, and they really keep you guessing. The ending surprised me, and I didn’t see it coming at all.
❀ Unique and Interesting
Before She Disappeared by Lisa Gardner is one that I recommend if you are a fan of thrillers. The story is unique, and the characters are interesting. I am secretly hoping that we see more of Frankie in upcoming books.
This sounds really interesting! Adding to my tbr, thank you:)

This author is one I still need to read! I’ve meant to. Not sure why I haven’t. Maybe I’ll start with this one. I like the sound of it.
I was happy that this one was a standalone! I have been intimidated to try a full series.
Twists to the plot is always a good thing with thrillers. I hate it when they have predictable endings.
