Queen of Shadows by Sarah J. Maas is such a suspenseful book with so much action! Aelin is just as fierce as ever and so sarcastic. What I really admire about these books is how well-written they are and Sarah J. Maas’s descriptive writing style.

The Queen has returned.
Everyone Celaena Sardothien loves has been taken from her. But she’s at last returned to the empire—for vengeance, to rescue her once-glorious kingdom, and to confront the shadows of her past…
She has embraced her identity as Aelin Galathynius, Queen of Terrasen. But before she can reclaim her throne, she must fight.
She will fight for her cousin, a warrior prepared to die for her. She will fight for her friend, a young man trapped in an unspeakable prison. And she will fight for her people, enslaved to a brutal king and awaiting their lost queen’s triumphant return.
The fourth volume in the New York Times bestselling series continues Celaena’s epic journey and builds to a passionate, agonizing crescendo that might just shatter her world.

Review: Queen of SHadows by Sarah J. Maas
This book is probably one of the most action-packed books I have ever read. It’s so hard to describe without spoiling, but Aelin is back as an assassin and literally fighting for everything. I really loved the parts of the book with the witches and Manon. I found it to be kind of like How to Train Your Dragon, which was so interesting because I have never seen anything like it. The way that the two stories combine is absolutely flawless and I never saw it coming.
❀ Aelin is an Entertaining Main Character
Aelin has got to be one of my favourite characters of all time. While she is an assassin, she actually has so much sass. Aelin is the queen of comebacks and has such a sarcastic sense of humour. She is also so strong and brave, which you kind of have to be when you’re an assassin, but this girl is pretty much fearless. Aelin made reading Queen of Shadows so entertaining and I can’t wait to see her sassy remarks in Empire of Storms in September!
❀ Well-Written Series
The Throne of Glass series is so well written that sometimes I had to just pause and take it all in. Sarah J. Maas has such a descriptive writing style and every character has such a complex backstory. The plot is never boring, which is pretty incredible for a 600+ page fantasy book. The world in the series is also so well developed that you don’t even need the map inside. I would read anything Sarah J. Maas writes, she’s that good.
❀ An Intense Book
Queen of Shadows by Sarah J. Maas is an intense book with How to Train Your Dragon-like elements. The main character is strong and sassy and definitely among my favourite characters of all time. The entire series is so beautifully written and developed. If you are one of the few that has yet to read this series, I would 100% recommend it!
Great review of a fantastic book. I’m not very patiently waiting on Empire of Storms which is out next month. Can’t wait.
The wait is almost over and I am sure that it will sit on my shelf for a while, just like QoS did! I just hope that those spoilers don’t make their way to me.
I can only agree 😉 I love the whole series but THIS one is in my eyes the BEST of all ToG books so far…can’t wait to read Empire of Storms in September!
Cheers

I just love everything about this series, but this book is pretty special! <3
Sounds like a great book.
I’ll have to go back and read the first book in this series.
I have got to read this already. I mean sheesh, I have every one of the books. There is no reason for me not devouring this series asap
When there are so many books to read, sometimes these ones wait until the right opportunity hits. I am sure you will enjoy it when you do read it! <3
Huh, I never thought of it like How to Train Your Dragon. I’ll have to think on that. (Of course, I read this awhile ago before the movies).
Thanks for the unique perspective! I’m glad you liked it 😀
I’m glad you liked this one! I’m anticipating Empire of Storms, but I’m so nervous to read it for some reason. Awesome review! ^_^
