Fresh Ink by Lamar Giles is one anthology that I am really eager to read. There are so many of my favourite authors represented in this book that I am not sure how I will wait until August to read it. Also, the format of this book is quite intriguing, and the fact that it incorporates a graphic novel and a play is so exciting!

Publisher: Crown Books for Young Readers
Publication Date: August 14, 2018

In partnership with We Need Diverse Books, thirteen of the most recognizable, diverse authors come together in this remarkable YA anthology featuring ten short stories, a graphic short story, and a one-act play from Walter Dean Myers never before in-print.
Careful--you are holding fresh ink. And not hot-off-the-press, still-drying-in-your-hands ink. Instead, you are holding twelve stories with endings that are still being written--whose next chapters are up to you.
Because these stories are meant to be read. And shared.
Thirteen of the most accomplished YA authors deliver a label-defying anthology that includes ten short stories, a graphic novel, and a one-act play. This collection will inspire you to break conventions, bend the rules, and color outside the lines. All you need is fresh ink.

Book Quotes: Fresh Ink by Lamar Giles
You don’t apologize for who you are. I’m an old lady now and perhaps that doesn’t mean much in the world we live in, but I exist and I shouldn’t have to be sorry for that. As a woman, you have to know that. Don’t ever apologize for who you are
I don’t read a lot of anthologies but this does have some great authors involved!
Pretty cover and sounds interesting. Hope you love it!
This sounds like a must read collection. I enjoy short stories from time to time and am always on the lookout for more diverse books. Thanks for bringing this to my attention!
I hope that it is one we both enjoy! 🙂

That is definitely clever to include the graphic novel and play. I don’t read many short stories, but I have enjoyed a number of graphic novels. Will watch for this one.
I’m not fan of anthologies but I really want to give this a shot! 🙂
I actually really like anthologies. They’re just so fun to read! 😀
I think this will be a pass, but I am a huge fan of the cover!
Anthologies are hit or miss for me, but you cannot argue with the talent contributing to this one.
I am the same way. I always seem to be drawn to them when there is an author that I love, though.
This is great for those students in my class who want a riveting story without the commitment of a full length novel!

That is so true! It’s also a great way to discover a new favourite author as well. 🙂
Okay, I’m very excited about this one! Sounds like a great book for me to purchase for the high school library where I work. Thanks for bringing it to my attention!
