Camryn has been dating Marc FOREVER—since freshman year! She dropped out of volleyball to go to all his games, switched her schedule around to be in his favorite class, and has been busting her butt to get into Columbia so they can go to the same college. So when Marc suddenly, and very publically, breaks up with her a week into their senior year so that he can date the new transfer student, she’s absolutely devastated.
But why be sad, when you can get even? Inspired by her favorite movies, Camryn decides that the best revenge is a Senior Year well lived, starring a boy who is ever so much better than her ex. With a little help from her friends, Cam is going to have the Best. Senior. Year. Ever.

Guest Post: Inspiration for Finding Mr. Better-Than-You
Four-plus years ago I was dating a guy I really liked. He lived far, but we were trying to make it work. We had New Year’s Eve plans. He was going to come to New York City to see me.
Only it didn’t happen. On Christmas he ended things. By email no less. He said long distance was too hard and he wasn’t going to come. I was crushed.
Then it went from bad to worse. Not even a month later, I logged onto Facebook and his picture popped up on my feed. He was engaged. There he was with his fiancée all happy, and there I was alone, feeling numb.
My mind went into overdrive, and before I knew it I had a book idea! I told my editor about it, and she loved it. I was still working on Airports, Exes, and Other Things I’m Over (barely had anything written), but we both knew Finding Mr. Better-Than-You (the title was there from the start) would be my next book.
Since the initial idea, the plot of Finding Mr. Better-Than-You took a lot of twists and turns. My real life was taken out of it. All the characters are 100-percent fictional now. However, there are a few things that stayed true from that initial concept:
It’s always been a book about friendship. A book about finding yourself. A book that says, while yes, it can be great to have a significant other, you don’t have to have one to be happy.
As for me, I did get over that ex. It took some time and some introspection, but I came to realize I deserved someone who truly loved me and my quirks. And what me from four years ago would be happy to know—I found exactly that!
I loved My New Crush Gave To Me. Would love to read this one.
I hope that you love it, Tammy! 🙂
I enjoy books about friendship and this also sounds like it could have some fun situations.
