Crooked Kingdom by Leigh Bardugo is a book that is life-changing and The Six of Crows books have got to be among my favourite books of all time. I loved every epic and suspenseful minute of this book and every character’s complex backstory. As usual, the author’s writing is beautiful and hilarious at the same time, something that is pretty rare.

Review: Crooked Kingdom by Leigh Bardugo
❀ One Plot Twist After Another
This book was honestly one plot twist after another, which is exactly how a heist book should be. I was on the edge of my seat the whole time as the crew set out to rescue Inej, and was terrified that they wouldn’t be able to outsmart their enemies. It’s been a while since I’ve read a book that was literally unputdownable, and I loved every minute of it. I can’t even begin to put my love for the Six of Crows books into words, which doesn’t happen often.
❀ Amazing Character Development
One of the most amazing things about these books is the amount of character development. The way Leigh Bardugo creates such intricate backstories for all six characters is so phenomenal, and I have no idea how she is able to do it. Each character also has such a vivid personality, making the reader feel like they exist in real life. I can’t even choose a favourite character, I love them all so much. Also, side note, I ship Wylan and Jesper with my life.
❀ Hilarious Writing
The way Crooked Kingdom is written is also incredible. I enjoyed how each character has their own chapters and the agonizing way that there are such intense cliffhangers, but the story switches and the reader is forced to wait what happens next. The writing is also pretty hilarious and there are some great side comments in the book that made me laugh out loud. Leigh Bardugo’s writing style is like no other and I can’t wait to see what she has in store for us in the future.
❀ Action-Packed
Crooked Kingdom is the epic sequel to Six of Crows that is action-packed and unpredictable. Each character is so well developed, even though there are six of them. The writing is beautiful and sassy: classic Leigh Bardugo. I am so sad that this duology is now complete, but I’m glad that it was so well done.
I just started Crooked Kingdom and I’m already so in love with it! It’s so good being back in this world and with all the characters! I know I’m going to be sad to see it finish though!
I know exactly what you mean! I hope that you enjoy it. 🙂
Crooked Kingdom is on my TBR for February. This review makes me even more excited to start it.
You are going to love it, for sure! 🙂
I’m also so sad this series is over, and honestly, I’m still too sad to write my review. I’m still heartbroken, and I don’t think I’ll ever get over it T_T However, of course I also loved this book. Wonderful review 🙂

Well, it looks like we are getting a little bit more from Bardugo, but yes this series is just so amazing. 🙂
Favorite book of 2016. I was a sobbing mess by the time I finished the book.
Right?! A really great book to sob over, though! 😉
I still haven’t read Six of Crows (or the Grisha trilogy), so I’m really going to have to get on this. The books are so beautiful, though! Glad to hear you enjoyed it!
Yes, you should really give this series a try. It is more than the pretty covers! 🙂
I didn’t have the best luck with her first series, but this one is on my to-read.. It just looks really good. Especially after reading your review, and so many others!
I still haven’t finished the first series either. This series is so much better in my opinion and I think that you will probably love it. 🙂
This book is fantastic but I hated that tragic scene at the end. I wish there was one more book in the series! 😀
I really enjoyed this one for all the reasons you said.
The character development though really stole the show for me. I didn’t “love” the first novel but I didn’t realize how much I enjoyed these characters until they were tested in this novel. It makes me wish we were getting more stories about this crew!
(and good heist novels are so hard to find!)
I totally agree with you. I hope that we do get something more with these characters. 🙂
I’ve been dying to read this one in a very long time. such a cool review you got there. :))
I just bought the the Six of Crows duology and the Grisha Trilogy and I already can tell it’s going some of my all-time favorite series! It’s so interesting to hear that Six of Crows is really funny. I wasn’t expecting that but now I’m even more excited to read it!
