Up to This Pointe by Jennifer Longo combines two elements I love most in YA–sports and travel. Following a dancer who goes to Antarctica after her plan doesn’t work out, this is a touching story with a strong main character. I especially enjoyed the writing style, and the way the dual timelines are linked is clever. I would definitely recommend this one, especially to those who, like myself, are looking for a book with a unique setting. Continue reading

Catwoman: Soulstealer by Sarah J. Maas
Catwoman: Soulstealer by Sarah J. Maas is filled with action and suspense, and the main character is surprisingly easy to root for, despite her being a villain. The dual narration also provides some drama. I really enjoyed this story, and I am excited for the series to continue. I have been following along with the DC Icons series since the first book was released, and I was so excited to see that Catwoman: Soulstealer written by Sarah J. Mass also follows a villain. Review: Batman: Nightwalker by Marie Lu
Batman: Nightwalker by Marie Lu is a book that I had very high hopes for, since I enjoy Batman’s story and Marie Lu is one of my all-time favourite authors, and I can definitely say that I was not disappointed. This book is an action-packed Batman origin story, and the main characters are so developed. It is also well-written and does the franchise justice. I would say that this fantasy story is definitely worth the read, and I can’t wait for the rest of the series to be released. Continue reading
Wonder Woman: Warbringer by Leigh Bardugo
Wonder Woman: Warbringer by Leigh Bardugo does not disappoint! This Wonder Woman retelling is easy to follow and will keep the reader on the edge of their seat as Diana and her squad journey to save the world from war. Diana is such a fresh main character, and I enjoyed reading about the strong female friendships. This book is absolutely perfect, and I would say it’s a must-read this year. Continue reading

Smash & Grab by Amy Christine Parker is a heist story with so much potential. It is action-packed, but too predictable and unrealistic. I also didn’t enjoy the choices that one of the main characters made, which made me end up not liking the book as much. Continue reading
