Escaping from Houdini by Kerri Maniscalco is a spooky story I have been meaning to read for a while now. The concept of this third instalment in the Stalking Jack the Ripper series feels fresh, and I really enjoyed the setting. However, I found it more difficult to connect with the main character, and I wasn’t a fan of all the drama in the book. Hunting Prince Dracula by Kerri Maniscalco is a book that I have been excited for since I picked up Stalking Jack the Ripper last year. Set in Romania, this instalment follows Audrey Rose and Thomas as they attempt to solve the case of a Vlad the Impaler-like killer. The main characters are just as clever as ever, and the setting is impressively immersive. This is a great read for Halloween. Continue reading

Stalking Jack the Ripper by Kerri Maniscalco is the perfect festive read for Halloween. It is is a little bit out of my comfort zone since I don’t typically read scary books, but I found myself loving the thrilling plot and the intelligent main character. The writing style is perfect for the genre, and I would definitely recommend this one, even to those who aren’t big fans of horror, like myself. Continue reading
