Let it Snow by John Green is a collection of connecting short stories that are all so good, It is hard to pick a favourite. The recurring Waffle House setting and the descriptions of staying cozy during a winter storm are wonderful. If I had to choose a favourite, I would probably go with Maureen Johnson’s story, The Jubilee Express. Continue reading

Paper Towns is a book vs. movie post that I have struggled to write. The Paper Towns movie is one of those films that is a love hate relationship for me. I am a huge fan of John Green and his book Paper Towns, so it was disappointing to me that when comparing the movie to the books, it did not live up to all of my expectations. An Abundance of Katherines by John Green, narrated by Jeff Woodman, is an audiobook that makes the characters feel so real, that you feel that you know them personally. This story is humorous and clever. It is also rich in the theme of friendship and making your mark in the world. The beautiful narration by Woodman makes the characters come alive and gives the listener an enjoyable listening adventure. Continue reading
