Tweet Cute by Emma Lord is a charming story about a viral Twitter war between a large burger chain and a local family deli. With two smart and snarky main characters, the dialogue in this one is sure to bring a smile to any reader’s face. The Silence Between Us by Alison Gervais is an unforgettable read spotlighting Deaf culture. There are so few books out there with Deaf main characters, so I was happy to see the confident and witty protagonist in this one. This book also respects the syntax of ASL as the author narrates Maya’s signs, and the many nuanced discussions about current debates in the Deaf community make it a must-read. Continue reading
Faking Reality by Sara Fujimura is a feel-good story following the daughter of HGTV stars. With an extravagant Sweet 16 party and a main character who is secretly in love with her best friend, this one contains plenty of drama.
