Emma – Feb 21
Emma is an upcoming adaptation of Jane Austen’s classic, Emma. This new movie stars Anya Taylor-Joy who is said to portray Emma perfectly. Not much longer to wait for this one to head to the theatre at the end of February.
All the Bright Places – Feb 28 – Netflix
Get your tissues ready for the adaptation of Jennifer Niven’s All the Bright Places. This movie has been in the works for a long time. Fans of Violet and Finch are finally getting to see the characters come to life on the screen.
Stargirl – March 13 – Disney +
Jerry Spinelli’s Stargirl is a story about a homeschooled girl who finds herself enrolled in high school. It is an emotional book that will make a perfect Disney+ film.
Our Chemical Hearts – Amazon
Another tear-jerker to watch for is Chemical Hearts. This movie adaption of Krystal Sutherland’s book is going to be interesting . This YA romance novel is often compared to John Green and Rainbow Rowell’s writing style. No release date yet, but it will be coming soon.
Love, Simon Series – Disney +
Our prayers have been answered for some more Creekwood and Becky Albertalli’s Simon. The Disney + adaptation stars Nick Robinson, who plays Simon in the original film, Love, Simon. The Creekwood series is a perfect choice for a Disney + spin-off series and we are looking forward to finding out its release date.
Shadow and Bone – Netflix
It seems as though Leigh Bardugo has been teasing us about the Shadow and Bone adaptation forever. When Netflix brings the Grishaverse to our screens this year, it will surely become very popular. No release date as of yet, but it has been promised for 2020.
There’s Someone Inside Your House – Netflix
Stephanie Perkins‘ There’s Someone in Your House is a YA thriller that has had Perkins’ fans on edge. While the book has been met with some criticism, it does sound like it will be an epic thriller for the screen. Hopefully, we will see it released this fall.
