A Taste for Love by Jennifer Yen combines two of my favourite things in YA–baking and competition. This is such an entertaining story about a baking competition that turns out to be a matchmaking scheme, and there are some fantastic descriptions of food inside. I enjoyed the main character’s passion for baking, but I would have liked to see more about the competition itself. Despite this, this is still an engaging read and a quirky take on Pride and Prejudice. Continue reading

Shatter Me Series Review by Tahereh Mafi
Shatter Me by Tahereh Mafi was one of my favourite YA book series when it first came out, and I was thrilled when I heard that there would be three new books added to the original trilogy. The concept of the series is very original, and the writing is beautiful. I also enjoyed the characters and their complexities. Kingdom of the Wicked by Kerri Maniscalco is a new YA fantasy series that is all about witches. I still have to read a couple of more books in the Stalking Jack the Ripper series, but it won’t stop me from adding this YA BookTok book to my TBR. I am so intrigued by the concept of witches living secretly among humans. It is a perfect romantasy book for a fall reading list. Continue reading

The Legend Trilogy by Marie Lu is an action-packed fantasy series about a plague and government secrecy. June and Day are remarkable main characters, and the setting is fully developed. I adored this YA book series, and I would definitely recommend it to fans of dystopian novels like The Hunger Games. Continue reading
