An Unwanted Guest by Shari Lapena is all you could ever ask for in a murder mystery. It is a classic who-done-it, set in an old hotel in the middle of nowhere. The Vanishing Star by Maureen Johnson is a book that I am excited for because I really enjoyed the first book in the Truly Devious series, and I am looking forward to finding out where the story goes next. I love a great mystery, and Maureen Johnson has become one of my favourite authors. The first book was just such an incredible ride. The Darkest Minds is the kind of sci-fi book that I knew would make an incredible movie from page one, and I am happy to report that the film version lived up to my expectations. Both the book and the movie have their share of snappy dialogue and action-packed fight scenes, although the plot twists aren’t quite as shocking in the film. The adaptation is very close to the original, and I would definitely seeing it in theatres. Continue reading
The Lunar Chronicles by Marissa Meyer is a series that is so original with its take on fairytales in space, and I loved each of the main characters. The story also has a great ending, leaving it among my favourite books. If you have yet to read this YA book series and are a fan of fairytales, badassery, and space, I would definitely recommend it!
