When I started planning for this challenge, August seemed to be so far away. Well, here we are in the middle of August and this reading challenge is coming to a close! It is a little bitter sweet because I have really enjoyed taking hold of my reading schedule and actually dusting off a few of the books sitting on my physical shelves and reading them. However, I would be lying if I didn’t let you know how excited I am to crack open the stack of books that I have to review in the next few weeks. I suppose it is a way for me to recharge a little bit. I have definitely figured out my reading habits and scheduling backlist books into the schedule is something that I intend to do more often in the upcoming months. Continue reading
Category: Summer TBR Wipeout 2017
The Summer TBR Wipeout 2017 is a book reading challenge hosted by The Candid Cover YA Book Blog. It is an encouraging and fun to book event that is very low-key, yet provides a great opportunity to read some of those books we have all been eyeing on our shelves, together.
To make the Summer TBR Wipeout simple and inclusive to everyone, it is open to anyone who wants to participate. You do not have to run a book blog or a website for that matter. All that is required is that you create your posts on some sort of social media website, such as Instagram, Facebook or Tumblr, etc. You can also read backlist books, ARCs, new releases or anything else that has been beckoning you to read it. There will be 4 posts in total that you can link up to here on The Candid Cover. To sweeten the deal, I will also be giving away a book of choice from the Book Depository worth up to $20 CAD. As always the giveaway is open internationally as long as TBD ships to you!

Well, it is time to find out whether everyone was able to wipeout a few books from their TBRs this summer. I am looking forward to reading all of your posts and discover some more books that I will inevitably add to the TBR in the process. Does the TBR ever really get smaller? I do enjoy clearing the books off of my list to make room for new ones, though. So, maybe it all works out in the end! Make sure to add your post to the linky and don’t forget to pick-up some more entries on the rafflecopter! Continue reading
Update Post #2: Summer TBR Wipeout 2017
Can you believe that it is August already, and that we are nearing the end of this summer reading challenge? I have really been enjoying reading some of the backlist titles that have been collecting dust on my bookshelves this summer, and it has been nice to feel a little bit more in control of my reading schedule. I have been polishing off most of the books that I have chosen to read and I only have a few left to finish before the challenge is up!
Here is what I have read for this part of the challenge:
Right now, I am reading A Court of Mist and Fury. I absolutely love Sarah J. Maas, however those mega books that are 600 pages plus are always a struggle for me to read due to time constraints. I have set aside this whole week to indulge in this baby and I am about a quarter of the way through. Also, that pesky sister of mine is going to be listening to the last little bit of The Sisterhood of the Travelling Pants with me whether she likes it or not! We have less than an hour left to go, so I am sure that we can get that one finished before this challenge is over!
Once these books are all read, I have just a couple more to go, so I am hoping that I have the time to read them all. I am fairly certain that I will, and with titles like these, I think that I will be able to whip them off quite easily!
All of these titles are on my Goodreads shelf if you are interested in learning more!

Update Post #1- Summer TBR Wipeout 2017
I think that the best part of any reading challenge is the encouragement we give to one another. I also love the wonderful conversations that are popping up about all of the books we are reading. I have had so many new recommendations and additions to my TBR, that I am considering the challenge should be renamed Summer TBR Additions! Continue reading
