Leah on the Offbeat by Becky Albertalli is a book I have been excited for ever since I finished Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda long ago. This book is everything I had hoped for, and it follows Leah who is navigating senior year and bisexuality. Leah is so likeable, and the friendship in the book is goals. The Upside of Unrequited by Becky Albertalli is an extremely diverse and relatable book with a main character who is hilarious and inspiring. What I especially enjoyed is the teen-like writing style. After reading Simon Vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda last year, I have placed Becky Albertalli on my auto-buy list. I can definitely say that The Upside of Unrequited did not disappoint. Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda by Becky Albertalli is so incredibly amazing! The book is told in the male perspective of a lovable teen named Simon. This book explores the theme of LGBTQ in such a refreshing way. Also, the narrator, Michael Crouch, really gets into the skin of Simon and adds a wonderful flavour to this story. Continue reading
