I found the idea of the Battle of the Mariachi Bands so compelling, and I enjoyed reading about the main character’s kindness and loyalty to her family. Out of the Blue by Jason June is a charming story about merfolk and the meaning of home. I always love a good fish out of water story–literally in this case–and as the book follows one mer’s journey to land, it contains two realistic main characters and the fake dating trope. I loved reading about the characters becoming a Disney character of their choice, and both of the main characters are relatable. The activities at the resort are described in detail, which makes Happily Ever Island jump off the page. Full of Disney references and magic, this is the perfect read for any Disney fan. Radha & Jai’s Recipe for Romance by Nisha Sharma combines food and dance in this comforting story about finding yourself.
