The Do-Over by Lynn Painter is a take on the Groundhog Day concept that is so engaging that I finished it in a single sitting.  Set during a disastrous Valentine’s Day, this one contains a fair amount of chaos and a main character who really changes as she is forced to endure the same day over and over again. The Christmas Clash by Suzanne Park is a Christmas rom-com that combines a family rivalry with a fight to save the local mall, all set during the holiday season. I loved the social themes the author tackles, including the importance of malls, although I would have liked to see even more Christmassy elements in the plot. This is a great book for younger YA readers looking for a more casual holiday read. Somebody That I Used to Know by Dana Davis is a heartfelt read about second chances. Following ex-best friends who reunite, this one contains a childhood bucket list, plenty of descriptions of music, and two main characters who transform throughout the story. While I thought that some of the dialogue feels a bit outdated, this is still an entertaining read, and fans of realistic contemporaries with complex relationships will enjoy this one.
