Review: Love & Olives by Jenna Evans Welch

Love & Olives by Jenna Evans Welch is a heartwarming and complex contemporary that has quickly become one of my favourites. Set in Greece, where the main characters are working on a documentary about Atlantis, this one will make readers both laugh and cry. I loved the complexity of each of the characters, and the theories of Atlantis throughout the story are explored in impressive detail. Fans of Love & Gelato will not be disappointed in this latest instalment. Continue reading

Review: Everywhere You Want to Be by Christina June

Everywhere You Want to Be by Christina June is a fairy tale retelling with a modern twist. I especially enjoyed the direction Christina June has taken modernizing Little Red Riding Hood, choosing to focus on paths for the future. Those looking to experience the magic of fairy tales, but in a modern setting, will enjoy this one. Continue reading

This one is also set in a vocational school, and I enjoyed reading about the mayhem of planning for the competition. Those looking for a unique contemporary with style at its centre will enjoy this one. Continue reading

In addition to Mari’s inspiring journey to re-discover herself, I loved the book’s emphasis on friendship. This is a powerful read that is sure to tug at your heartstrings. Continue reading
