This Book Is Not Yet Rated by Peter Bognanni has a whimsical cover, and the concept of this contemporary sounds really enjoyable. I really enjoyed Bognanni’s other novel, Things I’m Seeing Without You. He really seems to have the ability to tackle tough topics, yet keep an element of humour in his writing. Wildcard by Marie Lu has an exciting plot that is just as exciting as Warcross. The main character is also strong, and there is a prominent theme of family that I loved. An Absolutely Remarkable Thing by Hank Green is a book that I had incredibly high hopes for, and it is safe to say that I was not disappointed. This book is so complex, discussing topics such as fame and unity as the world is divided by the appearance of robots, but it is so much more than that. I enjoyed the realistic main character and the clever writing style. This has got to be the wildest book of 2018, and I must say, it is absolutely remarkable. Continue reading
Open Road Summer by Emery Lord features two of my favourite things to read about: music and road trips. This book is about two best friends on tour and stars a main character who is likeable and learns from her mistakes. The strong female friendship really sold this one for me.
