Internment by Samira Ahmed is a horrifying glimpse into the future, as it portrays an internment camp for Muslim Americans. The book is filled with tension, and the main character is dauntless in her fight for freedom. The believability of the story also enhances its influence. Small Town Hearts by Lillie Vale is the kind of book that makes you feel warm inside despite the freezing cold weather. It is a cute and summery read set in a picturesque beach town, and the main character is realistic. I would definitely recommend this one to fans of Sarah Dessen and Morgan Matson.

Five Feet Apart is a film I had been looking forward to since I really enjoyed reading the novel. The book is so heartwarming, and this translates to the screen pretty well. However, the film appears much more unrealistic and cringey than the novel, even though the plot is followed pretty closely. Both versions are enjoyable, but I found the novel better executed and more believable. Continue reading
When Irish Guys Are Smiling by Suzanne Supplee is an entertaining read about travel, friendship, and self-discovery. The main character is realistic, and the setting is described beautifully. The Dating Game by Kiley Roache is a book about innovation and technology as a group of unlikely partners creates the next big dating app. I love the premise, and the strong woman who can code is empowering.
