10 Things I Hate About Pinky by Sandhya Menon is the third book in the Dimple and Rishi series. How much fun does this book with a politically engaged teen sound?! SLAY by Brittney Morris is a book that I had been highly anticipating this fall for its interesting concept. While reading, it did become apparent that I am not the target audience for this novel, although it does seem to do a fantastic job of supporting Black culture. Harley in the Sky by Akemi Dawn Bowman is a circus book that has an interesting concept. I haven’t read any of this author’s books yet, but I always hear great things. The life of a circus performer always intrigues me, especially the trapeze artist. I have a feeling that there is going to be quite an emotional element to this one, so it will definitely have to be accompanied by a box of tissues! Continue reading

I adored the mix of cute content and a powerful message, and both Ashish and Sweetie are realistic characters. This is the perfect light and sweet read for a sunny day. Continue reading

Kings, Queens, and In-Betweens by Tanya Boteju is a book I had been anticipating for its unique premise. This book about new experiences and self-exploration is uplifting, and there is a strong cast of characters within.
