Lessons in Chemistry by Bonnie Garmus is a bestselling historical fiction novel that follows Elizabeth Zott, a chemist who is dealing with sexism and discrimination at work. The plot is very unique and it is enjoyable to read a female empowerment story that has so much humour. Also, the relationship that Elizabeth has with her daughter, Mad, is wonderful to watch unfold.
