The Lunar Chronicles by Marissa Meyer is a series that is so original with its take on fairytales in space, and I loved each of the main characters. The story also has a great ending, leaving it among my favourite books. If you have yet to read this YA book series and are a fan of fairytales, badassery, and space, I would definitely recommend it!

Series Review: The Lunar Chronicles by Marissa Meyer
This series is unlike anything I have read before. Basically, it takes classic fairytales and gives them an intergalactic makeover featuring a manipulative villain. I loved reading about cyborgs, androids, and all the technology in the futuristic world, and the series is filled with plot twists. Normally, when I binge a series, I get bored with the plot about halfway, but each instalment in this series introduces a new protagonist, and the story stays fresh. There are a lot of plot lines throughout the books, but they are all woven together, so I didn’t find them confusing. The Lunar Chronicles has got to be one of my new favourite series, and I regret not reading it earlier.
❀ Strong Female Leads
One of my favourite aspects of the series is the strong female leads. Each princess has a distinct voice and her own quirks, which can be pretty hard to pull off when there are so many main characters. I enjoyed how the princesses aren’t looking for princes to save them, and certain plot lines actually work the other way around. Cinder was probably my favourite character since she is so fearless, but I didn’t find any of the protagonists to be dislikable.
❀ Ties-up Nicely
I also appreciated how every aspect of the story ties up neatly. Each character’s backstory is developed, and there are no plot holes by the end of the series. I found that the short story collection really helped with this, since it delves into the lives of the side characters to answer any outstanding questions. There is nothing worse than being invested in a long series only to have the ending ruined, so I was glad to see a satisfactory conclusion to this one.
❀ An Action Packed Series
The Lunar Chronicles by Marissa Meyer is an action packed sci-fi series filled with twists. There are many main characters, all of whom are enjoyable, and the series is worth reading until the very end. After reading this, I would love to see even more creative fairytale adaptations out there.
