Icing on the Lake by Catherine Clark is perfect for fans of books about skating. This book is short and sweet, and the main character is relatable. There is a love triangle in the story, but I still ultimately enjoyed it.

Review: Icing on the Lake by Catherine Clark
After her sister breaks her leg, Kirsten moves in to help out. At the same time, she is looking for a date for an upcoming weekend getaway, and she is determined not to stay single at the end of her visit. I really enjoyed the skating and hockey aspects, since they provide such a nice winter aesthetic. The themes of both family and friendship are also enjoyable, and I especially enjoyed reading about Kirsten’s little nephew. Conor is also the sweetest. I will say, the book does have a major love triangle, but I still found the story interesting.
❀ Likeable Main Character
Kirsten is a pretty likeable main character. She is supportive of her sister, and I liked how she is so willing to help out. As well, she is relatable, and she has just the right amount of awkwardness. The one thing I will say is that I didn’t love the back and forth between the two brothers, but overall, I still found Kirsten entertaining.

Icing on the Lake by Catherine Clark is a fun and wintry book. I loved the theme of family and the realistic main character. However, if you are not a fan of love triangles, I would give this one a pass.
