“I’ve left some clues for you.
If you want them, turn the page.
If you don’t, put the book back on the shelf, please.”So begins the latest whirlwind romance from the bestselling authors of Nick & Norah’s Infinite Playlist. Lily has left a red notebook full of challenges on a favorite bookstore shelf, waiting for just the right guy to come along and accept its dares. But is Dash that right guy? Or are Dash and Lily only destined to trade dares, dreams, and desires in the notebook they pass back and forth at locations across New York? Could their in-person selves possibly connect as well as their notebook versions? Or will they be a comic mismatch of disastrous proportions?
Rachel Cohn and David Levithan have written a love story that will have readers perusing bookstore shelves, looking and longing for a love (and a red notebook) of their own.

❀ Creative Concept
Dash & Lily’s Book of Dares has such a creative concept! This book is all about how two teens meet through a red notebook. They send each other all through New York City at Christmastime hunting for clues about the other person. This book was so much fun to read and actually went by really quickly. Honestly, I had no idea that this was (sort of) a Christmas book before looking it up, but I feel like it would be enjoyable to those who don’t celebrate Christmas as well.
❀ Perfect Pacing
One of my favourite things about Dash & Lily’s Book of Dares is the fact that the whole book is told over the course of about 5 or 6 days. Nothing is really rushed, and the pacing was absolutely perfect! If you are the kind of person that really likes to get to know a character before major events really occur, this is the book for you!
❀ Alternating Perspectives
I really enjoyed how this book has alternating narrators. I always seem to love these kinds of books. I find that two different narrators really help the reader get to know the characters a lot better and gain more insight on the plot. Dual narrators are even better when the main character have such contrasting personalities!
❀ A Unique Book
Dash & Lily’s Book of Dares by Rachel Cohn & David Levithan is a unique book that is told over the course of a week. This book has alternating narrators, helping the reader understand the events even more. I really wish that I had read this book sooner, since I enjoyed it so much!
