Well, the summer is officially winding down and while I still have a holiday or two left to enjoy, the summer seems to be slipping through my fingers! I have also discovered a great deal about my reading habits while doing this challenge, so while I did not accomplish exactly what I set out to do, I have made a huge realization that will help me in the future!
What is this wonderful realization, you ask? Well, in a nutshell, I am an extremely fickle reader! I am constantly changing things up in my TBR. If I get a book that I am dying to read, I sometimes switch things around to accommodate even though I really don’t have time to do so. Also, I found a way to squeeze in some backlist titles into my reading schedule and this makes me very happy! I have been so focused on reading and reviewing all of those new releases that those books on my shelf were not getting the attention that they deserved. I am really hoping to continue to add backlist titles to my review schedule on a more regular basis.
I actually only read 6 of the original books that I had chosen! I had to set aside Siege and Storm and Burning Glass because they just weren’t doing anything for me. I got really bored with both of these books, actually. I was so disappointed because I was really anticipating them and thought they were going to be stellar reads! Maybe one day I will pick them up again and have different feelings, but for now I have other books to fill the void! As for Glass Sword, ACOMAF, and Six of Crows, I have them scheduled to read and review a bit later in the month, so fingers crossed that I get to these ones soon!
Most of the books that I did read were fantastic and I have written quite a few reviews in the past month. If you are interested in learning more about the titles that I read (or intended to read) this summer, you can find them all on my Goodreads shelf.
Thank you so much for those who participated and took part in this challenge! I am so happy to have knocked off a few of the books on my TBR and have been inspired by some of you who can read multitudes of books in a short period of time. Don’t forget to link up your posts in the linky and enter the giveaway as well!
Wow! You got lots of reading done this summer!! I didn’t stick to my original list either. I read about half of them, and then added in some impulse reads. Thanks for hosting…I had lot of fun with this 🙂
You know, I think that the summer is the time to read what your heart desires! Thanks for joining us! 🙂
I have done the same thing some of the books which I read were different from what was there on my original list. But I am so happy to read more than I expected! I love your progress as well. I actually forgot about the giveaway until I read your last paragraph lol.
That’s what happens when you’re having fun! 🙂
I feel like the summer is totally over for me because there has been some bad weather here AND school is starting tomorrow… Anyway, it sounds like you got a lot of reading done! I always veer off schedule too haha. (It’s why I got lazy and stopped putting together an official tbr because most of the time, I’d change my mind and end up reading completely different books.)

I hope that you enjoy your school year! I think that it is a common theme over the summer to just wing it with the reading! 🙂
Good for you for reading all you did!!! It’s hard to stick to a list when you are a mood reader. I had the same problem a few times, though at times, I was glad to have an actual plan where I didn’t have to think about what to read next!
I messed up with putting my link in the rafflecopter. I put my wrap-up link into the post #3 spot. I think I messed up on something else too, sorry!!!
No worries! 🙂
That is a good point! It is easier to move on when there is another book waiting in the wings! 🙂
