Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly event hosted by Breaking the Spine that spotlights upcoming releases that we’re eagerly anticipating.
This week’s book: The Sun is Also a Star

Author: Nicola Yoon
Publisher: Delacorte Press
Publication Date: November 1, 2016

Natasha: I’m a girl who believes in science and facts. Not fate. Not destiny. Or dreams that will never come true. I’m definitely not the kind of girl who meets a cute boy on a crowded New York City street and falls in love with him. Not when my family is twelve hours away from being deported to Jamaica. Falling in love with him won’t be my story.
Daniel: I’ve always been the good son, the good student, living up to my parents’ high expectations. Never the poet. Or the dreamer. But when I see her, I forget about all that. Something about Natasha makes me think that fate has something much more extraordinary in store—for both of us.
The Universe: Every moment in our lives has brought us to this single moment. A million futures lie before us. Which one will come true?

Thoughts:
I was blown away by Nicola Yoon’s debut, Everything, Everything, and when I saw that she had a new book coming out, I was very excited. I love the idea of fate incorporated in this book and I can’t wait to see how it all comes together. The fact that the book is set in New York also intrigues me as this is one of my favourite settings. I absolutely can’t wait until November to read this book!
Oh wow, that looks intense! And amazing and I am kind of in love with the cover! Here’s mine: http://editingeverything.com/blog/2016/07/06/wow-books-based-pakistan/

I had the pleasure of reading an ARC of this one, and let me tell you…. This book is something seriously special. I haven’t read Everything, Everything but I absolutely plan to now. The Sun is Also a Star is one of those rare contemps, like The Sky is Everywhere by Jandy Nelson, that I fall in love with. I hope you get the chance to read this one soon!
