Welcome to this week’s edition of Wishlist Wednesday! Today I am featuring Just a Boy and a Girl in a Little Canoe by Sarah Mlynowksi. This YA contemporary has me dreaming of summer already.
Can’t-Wait Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Wishful Endings to spotlight and discuss the books we’re excited about and have yet to read. It is a spin-off of the original meme, Waiting on Wednesday, that was formerly hosted by Breaking the Spine.

Sam’s summer isn’t off to a great start. Her boyfriend, Eli, ditched her for a European backpacking trip, and now she’s a counselor at Camp Blue Springs: the summer camp her eleven-year-old self swore never to return to. Sam expects the next seven weeks to be a total disaster.
That is, until she meets Gavin, the camp’s sailing instructor, who turns her expectations upside down. Gavin may have gotten the job just for his abs. Or that smile. Or the way he fills Sam’s free time with thrilling encounters—swimming under a cascade of stars, whispering secrets over s’mores, embarking on one (very precarious) canoe ride after dark.
It’s absurd. After all, Sam loves Eli. But one totally absurd, completely off-the-wall summer may be just what Sam needs. And maybe, just maybe, it will teach her something about what she really wants.
Perfect for fans of 99 Days and Anna and the French Kiss, this unforgettable, sun-drenched summer romance from one of YA’s bestselling and most beloved authors, Sarah Mlynowski, is an irresistible dive into the joys of seizing the day and embracing the unexpected.

Thoughts
I love a good summer romance and this book seems to fit the bill. Summer camp, s’mores, and canoe trips sound like a perfect set-up for a little YA love story. I can’t wait to find out how Sam’s summer turns out.
That sounds like a sweet book. My oldest is the bookworm in our house. I used to be at his age. Now I paint, design and write.
I think so, too! It is a perfect sounding book for summer. 🙂
Temptation, temptation …LOL But I can see why she would have a hard time resisting!
I know, right?!
I saw this the other day and I think it will be such a sweet read!
I agree with you! 🙂

Thanks, Ashley! 🙂
I love the shadows on the cover and with it being so cold outside today, it’s got me longing for Spring!
That is what drew me to this one! 🙂
Not fan of the cover but it sounds like a fun read. Hope you enjoy it!

Ahhh, summer! 🙂
I See London, I See France was OK for me, but I am really interested to in this companion. I love “going” to camp, and I was intrigued by this small bit of the storyline from ISL,ISF.
Same here! I am excited to see where the story goes. 🙂
This does sound fun! I don’t think I’ve read Mlynowski solo but I think I read something she co- wrote once, I don’t know, but she seems very familiar (or maybe I’ve just heard lots of good things about her books!).
I am sure that you have seen some of her books. She writes MG as well! 🙂
This sounds like a great book.
Fingers crossed! 🙂
This does sound like a fun summer book! And I love camp settings (even though I rarely get to read books with that setting!). I hope you get the chance to read this one when it comes out!
