Book Tag: Ringing in the New Year

I came across this fun New Year Book Tag and decided to give it a try. As 2015 has come to an end, I thought it would be interesting to share some of my favourites of the year and most anticipated of this new year with you!

Best book/series that you’ve read in 2015

Honestly, this is a very hard question for me, since I have read so many good books! If I had to choose 2, they would have to be A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Maas and An Ember in the Ashes by Sabaa Tahir!

Book cover for An Ember in the Ashes by Sabba Tahir.

Authors that you’ve recently found and would like to read more Books of in the new year

Some really great authors that I discovered this year include Susan Dennard, Ally Carter, and Nicole Castroman.

Most anticipated book turned movie in the New Year?

Oh my gosh, there are so many book to movie adaptations releasing soon! A few that I am really excited for are Allegiant, The 5th Wave, and Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children!

Name a Book character that you wouldn’t mind sharing a kiss with at midnight On New Year’s (if there is one)

Ahhhhh! There are so many good book boyfriends! But of course, I would have to go with Four from the Divergent series. For obvious reasons. 😉

What’s on your Book TBR for The New Year? (Top 5 will suffice if its an extremely long list!)

This is a hard question! I would have to go with A Court of Mist and Fury by Sarah J. Maas, Rebel of the Sands by Alwyn Hamilton, The Crown’s Game by Evelyn Skye, The Star-Touched Queen by Roshani Chokshi, and The Crown by Kiera Cass.

How many books do you hope to read in The New Year?

Honestly, I don’t really set a specific goal in reading for myself, since it can become stressful, so I am going to say as many as possible!

Will you participate in the Goodreads Reading Challenge (or any others)?

I’m not actually sure yet! As I mentioned above, I am not a big fan of setting reading goals, but it might be fun to see how many books I can read!

Any New Year’s book Resolutions? (bookish and otherwise)

Keep reading and have fun blogging! Also, don’t go crazy requesting all the ARCs. 😉

I tag anyone who is interested in the Ringing in the New Year Book Tag to participate. This is such a fun tag that is perfect for the New Year!

Great answers! I actually am looking forward to the 5th wave myself, especially if Chloe Grace is the lead 😛 Happy New Year and I don’t know if I will set myself a reading challenge this year too :/ I love to read just for the fun of it!

  2. Melanie Noell Bernard says:

Oh no! You’ve been sucked into the Divergent trilogy! Here! Give me your hand! I’ll save you! :p To be honest, I really enjoyed the books, especially because of the ending that Veronica Roth chose. However, the movie adaptations just KILLED it for me. So bad on the casting side. *sigh*

Oo! I’m really looking forward to ‘Blackhearts’ and ‘The 5th Wave’ movie. Though, I need to read the book before I see the movie. Hee hee! And ‘Star-Touched Queen’ & ‘The Crown’s Game’ are both on my 2016 TBR. They look really good. ^.^

  3. Rachel Lightwood @ Isytria says:

Best of luck with any resolutions that you come up with. Blackhearts sounds so good! And, if you haven’t already read it, Ally Carter’s Heist Society series is probably my favourite of hers (that I’ve read) so far.

  4. Tasha says:

ACOTAR and An Ember in the Ashes are both on my TBR. I’m looking forward to Allegiant even though I have a feelimg it’s going to be very different from the book. And yes FOUR

Don’t listen to Melanie, she’s a hater! 😉 (She knows I’m telling the truth!)
I’m also excited to see Allegiant!

I’m trying to get into other genres, so I think I might be reading A Court of Thorns and Roses this year. Everyone seems to love it! 🙂

  6. Jaime Lynn says:

I agree with all the above! Especially looking forward to A Court of Mist and Fury! I might have to try this Tag… I haven’t done one before, but this one sounds fun!
