Teaser Tuesday is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of A Daily Rhythm. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:
• Grab your current read
• Open to a random page
• Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
• BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
• Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!
Today’s Teaser Tuesday: The YOung Elites

Author: Marie Lu
Publisher: G.P. Putnam's Sons Books for Young Readers
Publication Date: October 7, 2014

I am tired of being used, hurt, and cast aside.
Adelina Amouteru is a survivor of the blood fever. A decade ago, the deadly illness swept through her nation. Most of the infected perished, while many of the children who survived were left with strange markings. Adelina’s black hair turned silver, her lashes went pale, and now she has only a jagged scar where her left eye once was. Her cruel father believes she is a malfetto, an abomination, ruining their family’s good name and standing in the way of their fortune. But some of the fever’s survivors are rumored to possess more than just scars—they are believed to have mysterious and powerful gifts, and though their identities remain secret, they have come to be called the Young Elites.
Teren Santoro works for the king. As Leader of the Inquisition Axis, it is his job to seek out the Young Elites, to destroy them before they destroy the nation. He believes the Young Elites to be dangerous and vengeful, but it’s Teren who may possess the darkest secret of all.
Enzo Valenciano is a member of the Dagger Society. This secret sect of Young Elites seeks out others like them before the Inquisition Axis can. But when the Daggers find Adelina, they discover someone with powers like they’ve never seen.
Adelina wants to believe Enzo is on her side, and that Teren is the true enemy. But the lives of these three will collide in unexpected ways, as each fights a very different and personal battle. But of one thing they are all certain: Adelina has abilities that shouldn’t belong in this world. A vengeful blackness in her heart. And a desire to destroy all who dare to cross her.
It is my turn to use. My turn to hurt.

Okay. I have been meaning to read this book for forever. But alas, the ever-growing TBR pile has struck again. I bought this book over the summer and am glad I did, because I am loving it. Well, of course I am, it’s Marie Lu…
Here is the teaser:
“It doesn’t matter anyway. I’m going to die tomorrow morning.”
If you have done a Teaser Tuesday yourself, leave a comment with your link and I will be sure to check it out. 🙂
I haven’t gotten to this one either. Glad it’s good.
I’m playing (with a giveaway) at Beth Fish Reads
I really like the sound of this one. Seems like it will have lots of suspense and surprises. My TT is from an historical fiction novel called The King’s Curse by Philippa Gregory: http://wp.me/p4DMf0-12O
Sounds like the author has created a fascinating (and dangerous) world in this book. I’m curious.
My Tuesday post features the Rawhide ‘n Roses anthology.
This book does sound good. I’ll keep it in mind for the next time I can see over the top of my TBR mountain. My teaser (and 2000th post) this week comes from Inherit the Stars by Tessa Elwood. Happy reading!
I feel that TBR pain! I bought this book on holidays back in July, so there is hope out there. 🙂
I want to yell, “It does matter!” And then shake the person. I’m intrigued by the synopsis you shared. I’ll have to look for this one.
Ha! I hope that you enjoy it. I have wanted to read this one forever and rewarded myself with a book from my physical TBR this week. So refreshing!
After reading and liking her previous books, I do want to read this one.
It is fantastic! I hope that you enjoy it. 🙂
This one sounds so good.. But I know Marie Lu! Her endings are tricky, tricky. SO I decided to try and wait for the series to be complete before I start this one. I don’t know if I will make it all the way but I sure am going to try. There is something immensely satisfying about being able to marathon a series!
So true! I do love to read a full series without trying to remember all of the details!
I loved the Young Elites! And I read the Rose Society too!
