• Grab your current read
• Open to a random page
• Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
• BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
• Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!
Today’s Teaser Tuesday: The Art of Not Breathing

Author: Sarah Alexander
Publisher: HMH Books for Young Readers
Publication Date: April 26, 2019

Since her twin brother, Eddie, drowned five years ago, sixteen-year-old Elsie Main has tried to remember what really happened that fateful day on the beach. One minute Eddie was there, and the next he was gone. Seventeen-year-old Tay McKenzie is a cute and mysterious boy that Elsie meets in her favorite boathouse hangout. When Tay introduces Elsie to the world of freediving, she vows to find the answers she seeks at the bottom of the sea.

I am really enjoying this book so far! Though it is sort of sad, a lot of it is actually hilarious. The summery setting by the water is also very enjoyable.
Book Quotes: The Art of Not Breathing
“Shame washes over me. If he were here and that happened, would I really save him?”
I am definitely intrigued….and the sadness would make me want to read more. Thanks for sharing…and here’s mine: “CLOUDS IN MY COFFEE”
I suspect this might be a slightly difficult read but I hope you enjoy.
Yes. It is a little difficult in spots, but I am really enjoying It! 🙂
I began reading this book and am just under halfway through. It is a bit difficult because the setting is in a rainy town in England ( right?) where I’ve never been. It is super interesting, but I just haven’t had time to really sit down and straight read it through. Thanks for giving me hope to keep reading it!
I think it is in Scotland. The language is a little difficult to get used to, I admit. I hope that you are able to give it a second chance. I am about halfway through as well.
I knew it was either Scotland or England. I am definitely going to give it a second chance as soon as the school year is over. Only a few more days left!
The teaser intrigues me. I also have to say your comment about it being somewhat sad but hilarious has me especially interested. Thank you for sharing!
I have seen this book all over the place lately, and it is definitely an intriguing premise. I haven’t ever seen a freediving theme in a story before, so that part is definitely interesting to me.
This actually sounds fascinating. I’m sure there are sad parts but I like that you mention some humor. And free diving has always amazed me:)
My TT from The Fireman
This one seems to have a fair amount in common with my TT this week – as The Nothing Girl had Himself laughing aloud and weeping in the night… https://sjhigbee.wordpress.com/2016/05/17/teaser-tuesday-17th-may-2016/
Ahhhh! Those books that love to have us in tears! 😉
It didn’t have that effect on me, but I certainly had a bit of a lump in my throat…
This sounds pretty interesting! Here’s my teaser:

Another intriguing teaser. This is not helping my TBR problem…
Haha! Happy to be of service. 😉

First of all, I love the cover. Plus, your teaser really intrigued me. Are you enjoying the book? 🙂
I just finished it and I have mixed feelings. It is definitely one to check out, but not a 5 star book in my opinion.
Interesting teaser! It sounds like a sad read, I’m glad there’s a lot of humour to help balance it out! Thanks for sharing!
That sounds like a pretty bad situation! I would like more! Thanks for stopping by! Happy reading!
