Teaser Tuesday is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Books and a Beat. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:
• Grab your current read
• Open to a random page
• Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
• BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
• Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!
Today’s Teaser Tuesday: The Amateurs by Sara Shepard

Author: Sara Shepard
Publisher: Disney-Hyperion
Publication Date: November 1, 2016

I need some answers about my sister. Help…
Five years ago, high school senior Helena Kelly disappeared from her backyard in Dexby, Connecticut, never to be heard from again. Her family was left without any answers—without any idea who killed Helena, or why.
So when eighteen-year-old Seneca Frazier sees a desperate post on the Case Not Closed message board, she knows it’s time to change that. Helena’s high-profile disappearance is the one that originally got Seneca addicted to true crime. It’s the reason she’s a member of the site in the first place.
Determined to get to the bottom of the mystery, she agrees to spend spring break in Connecticut working on the case with Maddy Wright, her best friend from Case Not Closed. However, the moment she steps off the train, things start to go wrong. Maddy’s nothing like she expected, and Helena’s sister, Aerin, doesn’t seem to want any help after all. Plus, Seneca has a secret of her own, one that could derail the investigation if she’s not careful.
Alongside Brett, another super-user from the site, they slowly begin to unravel the secrets Helena kept in the weeks before her disappearance. But the killer is watching…and determined to make sure the case stays cold.

I just started this book and am enjoying it so far! Okay, I admit, I haven’t read the Pretty Little Liars books or seen the show, so this is my first experience with Sara Shepard. I am excited to keep reading, however, since putting this book down to write this post was very difficult.
Book Quotes: The Amateurs by Sara Shepard
“It wouldn’t solve all her problems. It wouldn’t solve all her mysteries. But it was a start.”
That’s always a good sign – when it’s hard to pull out of the book to write about it:). I hope it goes on being so enjoyable. This is my TT this week – something complete different –

Mine this week is from a cozy mystery: https://wp.me/p3Nz8P-Xl
That ‘s a pretty strong endorsement! Glad you stopped reading though to share your teaser.
I like cold case stories. This could be good:)
My TT from PooP
I am really looking forward to this book!
I hope that you get the chance to read it soon! 🙂
Oh I’m really eager to know if you enjoy that one or not. I have read the PLL series -but given up at book 12 because well…it was getting a bit long for me – and I enjoy Sara Shepard’s stories 🙂
So far I am really enjoying it!
I haven’t read or watched them either, so don’t feel bad. I am actually pretty interested in this one. It sounds like it could be a great read. And obviously the author is a really great one. Very well loved!
I like the mystery here!
I hope this book won’t be as repetitive as her PLL series! She is a guilty pleasure author for me. But don’t tell anyone shhhhhh! 😛
