Book Tag: Goodreads

Goodreads Book Tag

This Goodreads book tag is one that I have always wanted to try. It is perfect for the start of a new year, as it can help to clean up our shelves, set goals and get ready for a whole new year of reading.

  1. What is the last book you marked as “read?”

The last book that I marked as “read” was The Heart Goes Last by Margaret Atwood. It was an enjoyable, classic Atwood novel that really gives the reader a lot to think about. You can find my full review here.

2. What are you currently reading?

I am currently reading three books, actually. They are: Queen of Shadows (which I have put on hold while I catch up on my other reading), I See Reality, and The 5th Wave audiobook. You may have noticed that I have been listening to The 5th Wave for quite some time now! I started listening to it with my sister back in August on a summer road trip. We are committed to finish listening to it together. So, coupled with the fact that it is almost 13 hours long and we have to be together, has made it a very long and drawn out process. Nonetheless, we are almost done and excited about the upcoming movie.

3. What was the last book you marked as “to read?”

The last book I marked as “to read” is called Untitled.  This is really the third book in the Ignite the Shadows series that comes out in 2017. I absolutely adored the first book and am really looking forward to when Book 2, Eclipse the Flame, comes out in August. It’s strange discussing a book that hasn’t got a title yet, but I hope to see one soon! Ingrid Seymour, the author of the series, is also super nice, so you should go check her out!

4. What book do you plan on reading next?

The next book on my list is These Vicious Masks by Tarun Shanker and Kelly Zekas. I am on a blog tour for this one and I am super excited to read it! This sounds like just my kind of book.

5. Do you use the star rating system?

Yes, I do use the star rating system. I love being able to show just how much I love a book and the star rating system is the perfect way to do so!

6. Are you doing the 2016 reading challenge?

No, I am not doing the reading challenge this year. I feel like I would become stressed over achieving my goal, which could make reading unenjoyable. I prefer to keep reading for fun! 🙂

7. Do you have a wishlist?

I have many books that I have been dying for! To name a few, The Crown’s Game by Evelyn Skye, Sword and Verse by Sarah Ahiers, and Revenge and the Wild by Michelle Modesto.

8. What book do you plan on buying next?

I NEED a copy of Glass Sword by Victoria Aveyard! Red Queen was absolutely incredible, and I must know what happens next. I’m sure I’m not the only one who feels this way!

9. What is your favourite quote?

My favourite quote is from Throne of Glass. It is, “You could rattle the stars. You could do anything, if only you dared. And deep down, you know it, too. That’s what scares you most.” It is so beautiful and I honestly love everything Sarah J. Maas writes!

10. Who are your favourite authors?

There are so many amazing authors, but to name four, I would have to choose John Green, Sarah J. Maas, Susan Dennard, and Veronica Roth.

11. Are you a part of any Goodreads groups?

I feel as though I am the only one who isn’t! I am not part of any Goodreads groups because I feel like it’s a lot to keep up with, and I probably wouldn’t be able to be a very active member. There are so many other social media sites where I discuss books and I have just kept Goodreads as a place to organize my reading and catch up on everyone else’s progress at my own pace.

12. What could Goodreads do better?

Honestly, I would love to see half-star ratings in the rating system. There are so many books that I would love to give 4.5 stars to, but I have to either round up or down!

I always love new friends, so if you would like to be friends on Goodreads, you can find me here!

As always, I do not tag individual bloggers for these tags, so I encourage anyone who is interested in participating in this Goodreads book tag to do so. I had lots of fun doing The Goodreads Book Tag and hope to see your responses!

I love this idea! I’m going to bookmark this specific post on your blog, and do this myself. I guess I’m going to have to buy Glass Sword since I haven’t gotten an ARC of it. 🙁 Which makes me sad because I have the ARC of Red Queen and I really like to have matching sets! As for favorite quotes, well I’ve got to get better about remembering specific quotes. Great post!

I am DEFINITELY doing this one. I have never done a book tag, but this is one that I want to do. There is a lot that I would love to comment on about your post, but I would literally be typing for 15 minutes. So, I will comment on the one thing that I TOTALLY AGREE WITH… Goodreads needs 1/2 star ratings. I mean, why the heck not?!

I sooo agree with you on the half star rating, it seems I’m either being unfair or too generous giving full stars and I think that half star would be a much welcome change to the system for so many people! Great read by the way 🙂
