Friday Reads: Archenemies

Friday Reads

Welcome to this week’s edition of Friday Reads! Today I am sharing a few quotes from Archenemies by Marissa Meyer. I have been waiting for what seems forever to read the next book in the Renegades series. I absolutely loved the first book and I have high hopes for this next one.

Book Beginnings is a book meme hosted by Rose City Reader where participants share quotes (the first sentence, or so) of the book, along with initial thoughts about the sentence, impressions of the book, or anything else the opener inspires.

The Friday 56 is hosted by Freda’s Voice, and the rules are quite simple: Grab a book, any book, and turn to page 56 or 56% in your e-reader. Find any non-spoilery sentence(s) and post.

Friday Reads: ArchenemiesTitle: Archenemies (Renegades #2)
Author: Marissa Meyer
Publisher: Feiwel & Friends
Publication Date: November 6, 2018

Summary (from Goodreads):

The Renegades Trilogy continues, in this fiercely awaited second installment after the New York Times-bestselling Renegades by Marissa Meyer, author of the Lunar Chronicles.

Time is running out.
Together, they can save the world.
But they each other's worst nightmare.

In Renegades, Nova and Adrian (aka Insomnia and Sketch) fought the battle of their lives against the Anarchist known as the Detonator. It was a short-lived victory.

The Anarchists still have a secret weapon, one that Nova believes will protect her. The Renegades also have a strategy for overpowering the Anarchists, but both Nova and Adrian understand that it could mean the end of Gatlon City - and the world - as they know it.

Book Beginning

Adrain crouched on the rooftop, peering at the delivery entrance behind Galton City Hospital. It was early morning – the sun hadn’t risen yet, though hints of light were turning the sky from charcoal grey to pale violet.

Friday 56

It was startling to see them all dressed in their traditional super-hero garb, down to the capes and masks, which made Nova even more curious to know what this meeting was about.

I have really only read a few pages so far, so I haven’t even made it to page 56. I am really curious to know what the meeting is about, too. This book is a whopping 560 pages and I intend to read it this weekend. Fingers crossed!

I really, REALLY need to read this first one. It is a little outside of my comfort zone, but I am thinking I should give it a chance anyway!
