The Coffee Book Tag
This coffee book tag is perfect for those who love a little coffee with their books. As Daylight Savings has ruled my life these past few days, I have consumed more coffee than usual. I figured that this would be the perfect time to tackle this fun coffee book tag I have seen on YouTube.
1. Black Coffee: Name a series that’s tough to get into but has hardcore fans.
Personally, I had a really tough time getting into this book, but I have seen quite a few people enjoyed it. I wish I had enjoyed this one more, since it had so much potential to be incredible. If you would like to know more about this one, my review can be found here.
2. Peppermint mocha: Name a book that gets more popular during the winter or a festive time of year.
I definitely have to go with My True Love Gave to Me for this category. This book contains twelve short stories by a whole whack of amazing authors. The bonus is that the stories are all winter/holiday themed. There is so much to love about this book!
3. Hot chocolate: What is your favorite children’s book?
My favourite children’s book has got to be Pippi Longstocking by Astrid Lindgren. I fell in love with everything about this book, and dreamed of being like Pippi when I was a little kid. It is still a secret dream of mine to have a pet monkey and keep a horse on the porch!
4. Double shot of espresso: Name a book that kept you on the edge of your seat from start to finish.
We’ll Never Be Apart by Emiko Jean is so fast-paced an intense! I was on the edge of my seat the whole time. This book will really surprise you and is one that I found to be a book that was incredible! My recent review can be found here.
5. Starbucks: Name a book you see everywhere.
I see Truthwitch by Susan Dennard all over the internet! I don’t dislike the amount of hype, it actually makes me even more excited of this book. I am so envious of everyone who was fortunate enough to score an ARC, and I am desperately waiting until January for its release. There are numerous posts on my blog that you have undoubtedly seen and I would honestly not promote a book or an author that I was not super sure about. Trust me! This book has got to be well worth the hype. I have read so many glowing reviews about Truthwitch that it will make your head spin!
6. That hipster coffee shop: Give a book by an indie author a shoutout.
I absolutely adored the Lakeview series by Stacey R. Campbell! Not enough people have read these books, and I strongly encourage you to pick this one up ASAP. If you enjoy mysteries and boarding school books, you will love this series! While I have reviewed all of the books in the series, my review of Hush can be found here.
7. Oops! I accidentally got decaf: Name a book you were expecting more from.
I was really expecting more from Nightfall! I was so ready for a jump scare or at least one mildly scary moment, but this book really let me down. I know that there are some fans of this book out there, but this one just didn’t do anything for me. Read my thoughts on Nightfall here.
8. The perfect blend: Name a book or series that was both bitter and sweet but ultimately satisfying.
I’ll Meet You There by Heather Demetrios is a very bitter-sweet. Don’t get me wrong, this book is incredible, but it can get very depressing. The sadness does end up making this book even better in some places, and overall, this book is fabulous! This was the first book that I have read by Heather Demetrios and I can tell you that I will be eagerly reading many more titles by her! My review of I’ll Meet You There can be found here.
I tag anyone who would like to try the Coffee tag to participate! This tag is so fun to write, and perfect for the coming winter months!
Aw! I’m really disappointed to hear about Nightfall because it sounds like such a good book, but I’ll probably still read it anyway. :p I just can’t help myself.
However, I am quite excited to hear that We’ll Never Be Apart was good because that’s also on my TBR and it looks so cool! ^.^ Also, it’s not in my usual genre. So, I’m happy to hear that branching out may be a good thing in this case.
I really don’t like deterring people from picking up a book, because my tastes might be different. I am glad to hear that you will give Nightfall a try! I can’t wait to hear what you think of it. 🙂
I can understand that, which is one of the reasons why I don’t generally read reviews before I’ve read a book. I like forming my own unbiased opinion, especially since it’s so true how different people may see a book. ^.^
This is such a fun tag! I’ll have to give it a go. I love your choices!
Thank you! I look forward to reading your post. 🙂
I love this book tag!! There’s nothing better than a good book and a mug/teacup of coffee. 😉
They do go hand in hand! Thanks for stopping by. 🙂
I definitely expected more out of Nightfall, too. It was very disappointing.. I enjoyed the rest of your coffee tag books!
I added a couple of these to my to-read pile. Thanks! Loved the tags.

How have I never heard of “My True Love Gave to Me”? It sounds so cute, especially for December. I’m definitely going to look into it now, thank you! Awesome list =)
I enjoyed your comments especially about accidentally grabbing decaf! OMG I actually did that the other day! -almost nothing worse! lol!
Ooo, coffee and a good book – my cup tea!
