I have never been one for superheroes or comics before, but this whole new DC Icons series that Random House has been publishing has really piqued my interest and is slowly converting me into a fan. So many of my favourite authors are included in this series, such as Marie Lu and Leigh Bardugo and I have been loving their installments so much.
Can’t-Wait Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Wishful Endings, to spotlight and discuss the books we’re excited about and have yet to read. It is a spin-off of the original meme, Waiting on Wednesday that was formerly hosted by Breaking the Spine.
THIS WEEK’S BOOK:
Title: Catwoman: Soulstealer (DC Icons #3)
Author: Sarah J. Maas
Publisher: Random House Books for Young Readers
Publication Date: August 7, 2018
Summary (from Goodreads): When the Bat’s away, the Cat will play. It’s time to see how many lives this cat really has. . . .
Two years after escaping Gotham City’s slums, Selina Kyle returns as the mysterious and wealthy Holly Vanderhees. She quickly discovers that with Batman off on a vital mission, Batwing is left to hold back the tide of notorious criminals. Gotham City is ripe for the taking.
Meanwhile, Luke Fox wants to prove he has what it takes to help people in his role as Batwing. He targets a new thief on the prowl who seems cleverer than most. She has teamed up with Poison Ivy and Harley Quinn, and together they are wreaking havoc. This Catwoman may be Batwing’s undoing.
THOUGHTS
Out of all the characters from the Batman TV series, Catwoman is my absolute favourite. I love a great villain and I am looking forward to finding out what Selina has cooked up this time. It will be interesting to see how Maas interprets the story and I am already loving the side characters that she has chosen.
I really want to read this book. Still have to read the Batman one but I have lots of time to read it before this one releases. It’ll be interesting to see SJM do something a little different from her other books.

I have high hopes for this one! I hope that we both love it. 🙂
Of all the dc book series the Catwomen One is the one I really want to read the most. As a kid I always aspired to be like catwoman as portrayed by Hallie Berry. Catwoman is such a character and I’d love to see how Sarah writes her.
I have yet to see that one! I hope we both love it. 🙂
I really need to check out this series.
I can’t wait for this book too! I love catwoman and Sarah Maas. 🙂
