Teaser Tuesday is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Books and a Beat. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:
• Grab your current read
• Open to a random page
• Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
• BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
• Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!
Today’s Teaser Tuesday: Unscripted Joss Byrd

Author: Lygia Day Peñaflor
Publisher: Roaring Brook Press
Publication Date: August 23, 2016

Hollywood critics agree. Joss Byrd is "fiercely emotional," a young actress with "complete conviction," and a "powerhouse."
Joss Byrd is America's most celebrated young actress, but on the set of her latest project, a gritty indie film called The Locals, Joss's life is far from glamorous. While struggling with her mother's expectations, a crush on her movie brother, and a secret that could end her career, Joss must pull off a performance worthy of a star. When her renowned, charismatic director demands more than she is ready to deliver, Joss must go off-script to stay true to herself.

I always enjoy books that have elements of acting and the theatre for some reason, so this book has been on my radar for quite some time. It is an enjoyable story so far and it is another great contemporary to add to your summer reading list.
Book Quotes: Unscripted Joss Byrd
“I don’t know what I’m doing here. She should’ve been the actress.”
Sounds like my kind of story. I’m also fascinated by stories about acting and theatre (probably jealousy that I can’t act) and love a nice summer read.
I enjoy stories whether the character may have to make a life changing decision. Great title too.
My TT from Friend Of The Devil
Not for me, but I do hope you enjoy it. Does have a cute cover.

It sure is! Isn’t it?
This read sounds right up my alley! I’ll definitely be looking into it some more! I usually really enjoy books involving acting or dance or music so yup should be a good read for me haha. Thanks for sharing a teaser!
Sounds really good. I’ll have to add this one to my wishlist. My YA teaser this week comes from Vicarious by Paula Stokes. Happy reading!
I love books set in the world of movies, and what goes on behind the scenes always intrigues me. Thanks for sharing, and here’s mine: “THE COUPLE NEXT DOOR”
This sounds like a really cute read! I need me a good contemporary!
I haven’t read too many books that revolve around acting, but the few that I have read were enjoyable. I like the little mystery that this one presents, and crushes are always nice!
