Book Review: Just a Boy and a Girl in a Little Canoe

Just a Boy and a Girl in a Little Canoe by Sarah Mlynowski is a book I was excited for since I love a a summer camp setting. The descriptions of the camp the main character works at are vivid, and it was easy to imagine being there. However, I disliked her immaturity and the way she continually attempts to justify cheating on her boyfriend. Ultimately, I was disappointed with this one. Continue reading

Review: The World Eats Here by Wang & Garner

The World Eats Here  by John Wang and Storm Garner is an interesting look at the Queens Night Market and its many vendors. The recipes that are included encompass a variety of cultures and the images reflect the spirit of coming together to enjoy both food and community. Definitely a book that gives a bit of wanderlust and a look back to a time where we once gathered to enjoy a bite to eat. Continue reading
