Wishlist Wednesday: That’s Not What I Heard

Wishlist Wednesday on The Candid Cover

Welcome to this week’s edition of Wishlist Wednesday! Today I am featuring That’s Not What I Heard by Stephanie Kate Strohm. I love a great rom-com and this sounds like a perfect contemporary read.

Can’t-Wait Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by  Wishful Endings, to spotlight and discuss the books we’re excited about and have yet to read. It is a spin-off of the original meme, Waiting on Wednesday that was formerly hosted by Breaking the Spine.

THIS WEEK’S BOOK:

Wishlist Wednesday: That’s Not What I HeardTitle: That's Not What I Heard
Author: Stephanie Kate Strohm
Publisher: Scholastic
Publication Date: February 26, 2019

Summary (from Goodreads):

What did you hear?

Kimberly Landis-Lilley and Teddy Lin are over. Yes, the Kim and Teddy broke up.

At least that's what Phil Spooner thinks he overheard and then told Jess Howard, Kim's best friend. Something about Teddy not liking Kim's Instas? Or was it that Teddy is moving to Italy and didn't want to do long distance? Or that Kim slid into someone else's DMs?

Jess told her boyfriend, Elvis, that he needs to be on Kim's side. Especially if he wants to keep her as his girlfriend. But Elvis is also Teddy's best friend.

Now, Kim's run out of school for the day. Jess is furious. Elvis is confused. And half the lunch period won't talk to Teddy. Even the teachers have taken sides.

William Henry Harrison High will never be the same again!

Thoughts

Stephanie Kate Strohm has become one of my auto-buy authors recently. Her YA contemporaries are always so much fun to read. I think the concept of a rumour gone viral is going to set the stage for some interesting drama.
